Holistic, Integrative, and Mind-Body Psychotherapy
An empowered approach blending trauma-informed therapy with evidenced based and transformative healing.
Welcome to Cecily Longo, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Drawing on over 20 years of experience in behavioral health, Cecily Longo, LMFT, integrates evidence-based psychotherapy with holistic and somatic (mind-body) healing to support meaningful healing and growth. My approach emphasizes compassion, education, and empowerment, creating a space where you can strengthen resilience and reconnect with yourself.
Clients I work with seek support for anxiety, depression, trauma, highly conflictual relationships, medical challenges, and life transitions — experiences that can leave you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to turn.
Therapy offers practical tools to calm the nervous system, rebuild trust in yourself, and create space for growth, meaning, and lasting change.
All sessions are conducted via telehealth, and clients must be physically located in the state of California to receive services.
Complimentary 15–30 minute consultations are available by phone or telehealth.

How Therapy Helps
Gain clarity and self-awareness
Therapy helps you understand how past experiences and unconscious patterns influence current choices. With greater awareness, you can break free from cycles that no longer serve you and make conscious, healthy decisions.
Build coping skills and improve communication
Using evidence-based approaches like DBT, CBT, and ACT, therapy provides practical tools for managing anxiety, depression, and overwhelming emotions while strengthening relationships and communication skills.
Process trauma gently and effectively
Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy offers a safe, nonjudgmental way to explore different “parts” of yourself — like the inner critic or the avoidant protector — so you can integrate these experiences and feel more at ease within yourself.
Reconnect with mind/body awareness
Somatic therapy focuses on how stress, trauma, and emotions live in the nervous system. By tuning into the body, you can release tension, feel more present, and rebuild a sense of safety and control.
Additional Modalities
Emotional Freedom Technique Acupressure Tapping (EFT Tapping)
EFT Tapping combines elements of behavioral therapy and traditional Chinese medicine by tapping with your fingertips or applying acupressure on pre-designated, specific acupoints. Consistent research on EFT shows up to a 43 % reduction cortisol and other stress hormones from your nervous system, shifting the body from overwhelm into calm. It can be practiced as a self-help tool or used in session for deeper healing.
In 2017, both Kaiser Permanente and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs approved EFT as an evidence-based treatment for PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
Visit the EFT Tapping page on this website for details about training, experience, and practical tips for using this method effectively. Visit EFTuniverse.com and TheTapppingSolution.com to read more about the research behind EFT.
Symbolic Imagery Sessions
For those drawn to a Jungian-inspired approach, sessions may incorporate artwork, imagery, symbolism, and metaphor to bring deeper insight and clarity to a presenting issue or life circumstance. In April 2023, Cecily Longo completed a CEU course and became a Certified Tarotpy® Practitioner, trained by Lauren Z. Schneider, LMFT.
While the name includes the word tarot, the Tarotpy method is a trauma-informed, psychotherapeutic process — not prediction or fortune-telling — and can be especially powerful for exploring dreamwork and connecting symbolic material to everyday life.
Curious to see how Symbolic Imagery sessions work? You can find full details on the Symbolic Imagery Sessions page, listed under Healing Tools in the navigation menu. You can also discover more info on the Services page.
Coaching
You can work with me as an EFT Tapping Coach, or receive a Symbolic Imagery/Tarotpy Session, outside of being a psychotherapy client as well! However, there are some crucial distinctions to keep in mind when considering Coaching vs. Therapy, and knowing which option is right for you. Please see the Services page for more detailed information. And as always, feel free to reach out if you have questions.
